More than 100 students inwards Mark Anderson's MAE two class, most of them freshmen, were out on Warren Field Mon Dec 8 to accept role inwards a bird launch competition. The students got together inwards teams of 3 together with armed amongst gum guns together with closed to ingenuity, built small-scale motorized model airplanes out of balsa forest together with foam board. The story that would wing the longest would win. The select grip of was that the planes' motor solely worked for xx seconds.
"They larn nearly the dominant forces," Anderson said.
"Many said they realized how of import weight is," he added.
After the winner was announced, all students got to launch their crafts at the same time, inwards a flurry of wings--and a few crashes.
